National soccer team member Hwang In-beom is named Serbia League ‘Player of the Year’

Achieved ‘double win’ with double-digit attack points… Rumors of advancing to the big leagues

National soccer team midfielder Hwang In-beom, who plays for Crvena Zvezda of the Serbian professional soccer Superliga, was named the league’s best player.

Serbia Superliga announced through its official channel on the 30th (local time) that Hwang In-beom was selected as the league’s best player for the 2023-2024 season.

The best player is selected by a vote of 32 people, including coaches and captains of 16 clubs in the Serbian league, and In-beom Hwang beat Partizan’s Matheus Saldana to become the representative player of the Serbian league.

According to the Serbian Superliga Secretariat, Javor Ivanica’s captain Nemanja Miletic praised Hwang In-beom for dominating the league and especially for his outstanding performance in the rivalry game.

Additionally, Goran Stanich, the head coach of Chukarić, emphasized that Hwang In-beom is a foreign player who can make a big difference on the pitch.

Hwang In-beom, a former member of Daejeon Hana Citizen of the K-League 1 professional soccer team, left Olympiakos (Greece) last summer and made a new start by joining Zvezda.

Hwang In-beom lived up to expectations by establishing himself as the core of Zvezda’s midfield and showing stable linkage. He also helped the team win the league and cup, scoring 6 goals and 7 assists in all competitions combined, including the league and the UEFA Champions League (UCL). There was a local report recently that Hwang In-beom, who won the domestic double with Zvezda and was selected as the best player in the Serbian league, could advance to the top five leagues in Europe. Serbian media outlet ‘Directno’ hinted at the possibility of him advancing to the big league, saying, “Several clubs, including Bologna of Italy’s Serie A and Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton of England’s Premier League (EPL), are showing interest in Hwang In-beom.” 고스톱
