Silva’s 23-point performance not enough for Jung Kwan-jang, Cha laments “passivity and lack of focus compared to other days”

“We were more passive than other days.”

GS Caltex, coached by Cha Sang-hyun, saw its winning streak come to an end after falling 0-3 (22-25, 21-25, 23-25) in straight sets against Jung Kwan-jang in the fourth round of the Dodram 2023-24 V-League Women’s Division at Daejeon Chungmu Gymnasium on Saturday.

GS Caltex was led by foreign player Giselle Silva (registered name Silva) with a double-double of 23 points and Kang So-hwi 텍사스홀덤사이트 with 12 points, but it was not enough to overcome Jung Kwan-jang, who had a triple-double.

Speaking after the match, coach Cha Sang-hyun said, “There are moments in the game when you’re not sure what to do. (Kim) Ji-won and (Moon) Ji-yoon’s movements were intertwined. Also, the overall mood was down. It’s a lack of concentration,” he said.

“I think we need to talk about the mental part. Some players had colds, others were not in good shape. Even if you take that into account, it’s unfortunate that we didn’t concentrate. We played more passive than the other day,” he said.

Lee Yi-sin, who made her professional debut against Pepper Savings Bank on Feb. 2, was the starting setter for the match, replacing Kim Ji-won.

“She showed some anxiety, but I don’t think she played badly in a high-tension match,” Cha said.

GS Caltex will play against Hyundai E&C at Suwon Indoor Gymnasium on the 10th.
