‘Kim Dan-bi, Lee Hae-ran dominate’ Woori Bank, Samsung Life win thrilling upset on Day 1 of Park Shinja Cup…KB Stars lose to Toyota

Asan Woori Bank Woori WON and Yongin Samsung Life Blooms won their matches on Day 1 of the Park Shinjah Cup. Cheongju KB Stars fell short against Toyota Antelops.

Woori Bank won 66-62 against Hitachi Hi-Tech in the ‘2024 Woori Bank Park Shinja Cup’ at the Asan Yi Sunshin Gymnasium at 2 p.m. on Nov. 31. Woori Bank was led by Kim Dan-bi’s performance. Kim scored a game-high 19 points to lead Woori to victory. Han Um-ji and Lee Myung-kwan also contributed 11 points apiece.

KB Stars, last season’s WKBL runner-up, fell 64-74 to Toyota. KB Stars were led by Lee Hye-ju’s 23 points, but they were unable to overcome Toyota, who had four players score in double figures.

KB Stars took a 16-14 lead in the first quarter thanks to Yoon-ah Yim’s performance, but she was held to 11 points in the second quarter, allowing Toyota to take a 40-25 lead. KB Stars rallied in the third quarter, but fell behind 20-21 in the fourth quarter and suffered a 10-point loss.
