The Suwon Samsung University Champions League 2023 (SUCL 2023), hosted by the Suwon Samsung Bluewings, is coming.
On the 9th, Suwon Samsung announced, “We are recruiting teams to participate in SUCL 2023, an amateur college soccer tournament in Suwon sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Organization (KSPO).”
SUCL 텍사스홀덤 is a tournament organized by Suwon Samsung’s university student supporters ‘Blue Tier’ and participated by university students, and will be held for the eighth time this year. Since the first tournament in 2015, SUCL has been held every year except for 2020 due to Corona 19, and has become a soccer festival for university students in Suwon and neighboring areas.
Applications for the tournament will be accepted from the 9th to the 16th at 17:00, and more details can be found on the club’s website. This year’s tournament will further expand the size of the tournament through the ‘SUCL Point’ system introduced last year, and a total of 12 teams will be recruited.
SUCL Points are calculated based on the data (number of participations, performance) of each team that has participated in previous tournaments. The four teams with the highest points will be automatically assigned to the top seed.
The main and final matches of SUCL 2023 will be held in September. The main competition will be held in a tournament format on September 9 and 10 at Suwon World Cup Stadium Artificial Turf 2, while the final will be held on September 17 at Suwon World Cup Stadium as a pre-match between Suwon Samseong and Daegu FC.
