Good news. Kim In-hwan (Hanwha Eagles), who was replaced after being hit in the right side by a 140-kilometer fastball, received a clean bill of health after a medical examination.
Kim In-hwan started as the No. 2 designated hitter in the 2023 KBO Baseball League home game against the NC Dinos at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on April 22.
After striking out on three pitches from NC starter Taylor Widener in his first at-bat in the top of the first inning, Kim’s bat came alive in the bottom of the inning with the score tied 1-1. He took advantage of Widener’s first pitch, a 132-mph changeup, for an RBI single to right.
However, Kim faced a scary situation in the bottom of the fifth inning. While attempting to bunt with the bases loaded, he was hit in the right side by a 140-kilometer fastball from right-handed reliever Cho 바카라사이트 Min-seok. Complaining of excruciating pain, he was eventually replaced by pinch-hitter Kim Tae-yeon. Kim was immediately taken to Chungnam National University Hospital for X-rays and CT scans.
The results showed that there was nothing wrong with his body. “The X-ray and CT scan showed nothing unusual,” said a Hanwha official.
Meanwhile, Hanwha led 5-4 before the ninth inning, but gave up a three-run homer to Jason Martin in the top of the ninth to lose 5-7. It was the second straight loss for Hanwha, which fell to 42 losses (34 wins and four draws). NC, which is riding a four-game winning streak, is 41-1 and 38-1.
