Gwangju FC head coach Lee Jung-hyo has beaten rival FC Seoul head coach Kim Ki-dong to earn three points in four matches.
Gwangju won 2-1 away to Seoul in the 16th round of the Hana Bank K League 1 2024 at Sangam World Cup Stadium in Seoul at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
With the win, Gwangju is in seventh place with six wins, one draw and nine losses (19 points). Seoul sits in ninth place with four wins, five draws and seven losses (17 points).
Gwangju hasn’t won in four matches since their victory over Ulsan HD on March 15th. The team has struggled in its last three matches with one draw and two losses, but will look to bounce back with a point against Seoul.
Kim Ki-dong’s Seoul, on the other hand, have two draws and two losses in four matches since their last win against Incheon United on March 11th. They are still shaky, especially at home, where they have lost five straight games.
Gwangju started with a 4-4-2 formation. Uhm Ji-sung-Ik-hee, Moon Min-seo-Jung Ho-yeon-Choi Kyung-rok-Kim Han-gil, Kim Jin-ho-He-yul-Byun Jun-soo-Sang-gi, and Kim Kyung-min started.
Seoul lined up in a 4-4-2 formation. Lingard-Ilyuchenko, Kim Sang-hyeop, Lee Seung-mo, Ki Sung-yong, Han Seung-kyu, Kang Sang-woo, Park Sung-hoon, Kwon Wan-kyu, Choi Jun, and Baek Jong-joint.
