U-23 ASIAN CUP QUALIFIERS CONFIRMED, INCLUDING JUNG SANG-BIN AND KWON HYUK-KYU

Twenty-three players have been confirmed for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers, the first qualifying round for men’s football at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.The Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on Friday that it has finalised its 23-man squad from the 26 players who took part in the call-up training for the U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers starting on 6 June.The squad, comprised of players under the age of 22, has been training in Changwon since the 28th of last month, with the final 23 players selected today.Of the 26, Kim Joo-chan (Suwon) and Park Chang-hwan (Eland) were selected. Hwang Jae-hwan (Ulsan) were left out.Overseas players Kwon Hyuk-kyu (Celtic), Lee Hyun-joo (Wien Wiesbaden) and Jung Sang-bin (Minnesota United) made the final list.Kim Jung-hoon and Park Chang-woo (Jeonbuk), Lee Tae-seok and Kim Shin-jin (Seoul), Uhm Ji-sung and Heo Yul (Gwangju), Cho Hyun-taek (Ulsan) and Hong Yun-sang (Pohang) are among the players who are active in the K League.The AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifier from 6-12 June is the first gateway to next year’s Paris Olympics.Players must qualify for the U-23 Asian Cup in April next year in Qatar, which is the final Asian qualifier for the Paris Olympics.A total of 16 teams will qualify for the U-23 Asian Cup, including the top four teams from each of the 11 qualifying groups and the top two teams from Group 2, plus hosts Qatar.Korea will compete in Group B against Qatar, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar. They will face Qatar on the 6th, Kyrgyzstan on the 9th and Myanmar on the 12th at the Changwon Football Centre.In the U-23 Asian Cup, the first to third-placed teams will book a direct ticket to the Olympic Games, while the fourth-placed team will play a play-off against the fourth-placed team from the final African qualifiers for a place 스포츠토토 in Paris.
